Antaeus, born and reared in Greece,immigrated to the United States at age 17. In 1986 he graduated from California State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Industry. During the 1992 Winter Music Conference, Antaeus took home the "Best Disc-Jockey in Los Angeles" award. That year he also became a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the governing party for the GRAMMY awards. Since 1986, Antaeus (a/k/a Alexx Antaeus) has been involved in recording, remixing, or producing for a diverse selection of artists such as Young M.C., Falco, Lonnie Gordon, Malcolm McLaren, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, The Rolling Stones, The Boys, Herbert Gronemeyer, and Earth Wind & Fire. Some of the club music projects he has launched are Jeek! and Aar. For his work, he has earned several gold and platinum plaques. Antaeus' personal albums include BYZANTINE MEDITATION, WORLD PRAYER, and ZERO4. BYZANTINE MEDITATION is a chill-out soundscape fusing voices, traditional instruments, electronica, hip-hop, and drum 'n' bass. The title track received significant airplay on Smooth Jazz and eclectic stations and was used in Jacob's Coffee TV commercials. For WORLD PRAYER, the Vigin Megastore magazine raved: "Few Greeks up to now have been able to make their presence felt in the international music world.
