Alexis Normand is a French-speaking singer and songwriter from the city of Saskatoon in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Following her participation in the Chant'Ouest festival in 2002, Alexis studied music at the University of Ottawa before undertaking a year of training at the École nationale de la chanson (National School of Song) in Granby, Québec in 2008. In January 2010, she released her first recording - an 5-track EP which was played on French language radio stations across Canada. Her song "Quelques petites merveilles" was a must-play on five different station, including on CHOQ-FM in Toronto where it was number one for 4 weeks.! Alexis was the winner of Muziklips Radio-Canada in 2009 and a semifinalist at both the Festival en chanson de Saint-Ambroise in Québec and the Festival International de la chanson in Ontario in 2010.
