Born in Odessa in 1977 into a family of musicians, Alexander Mogilevsky grew up in Moscow where he attended the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory. His international career was launched in 1992 when he won the first Tchaikovsky International Competition for Young Pianists. As a recitalist, Mr. Mogilevsky performs on some of the world's most prestigious stages, including the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, London's Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall, the Tonhalle in Zurich, and the Salle Gaveau and Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. Among the orchestras he has appeared with as soloist are the Philharmonia, Netherlands Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic, Orchestra Pays de la Loire, Warsaw Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and the Russian National. His festival appearances include the Music Festival Radio France Montpellier, the Verbier Festival, the Rotterdam Philharmonic/Gergiev Festival, the Rheingau and Bad Worishofen Festivals in Germany, the Martha Argerich Festival in Beppu, Japan, and the Yehudi Menuhin Festival in Gstaad. His 1995 debut at the Roque d'Antheron Piano Festival was broadcast live by France Musique. In June 2004 he performed Stravinsky's Les Noces together with Martha Argerich at her festival in Lugano, Switzerland.
