Artist
Alexander Kyd is a composer and guitarist originally from Sofia, Bulgaria. Kyd's compositions have somber tones, often using long and melancholic guitar riffs along with post rock alternative influences to construct harrowing and often times sublime auditory pieces. As listed on his official website, Kyd travels consistently and has worked as a busker in the past. Alexander Kyd attributes his name to the distinguished English playwright Thomas Kyd and, by extension, to all the great masters of literature written in English. His brief discography includes, in his own words: "These Waters Remember is a twelve-minute work which features female vocals (a first for me). Obsidian features layers upon layers of looped electric guitar phrases drenched in reverb. 51 Pegasi is my attempt to create something noble and romantic, but at the same time dark and deep. These pieces, along with three more, comprise the album Cassis." From his past experiences with cross continental travel, he has heard his music described as: · “A selfless confession” · “A quest that both harms and heals” · “Stratospheric, magnetic, self-consciously meaningful”. · “Bitter waters for the soul to sail on.” · “Deep, passionate, penetrating.” · “Dreamy and powerful.” · “A journey.” · “Melancholic and compassionate.” User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
