Alex Sandunga is natural from La Habana, Cuba and since is childhood he developed the taste for music and found there a way to express himself to his plenitude. In 1997 he found Alto Voltage, an electric and alive rap group that quickly became one of the most respected - due to its strong opinions - and known in all the country. Following his strong convictions against social injustice Alex became a member of the Association Hermanos Saíz, Association which helps young artists (musicians, writers, etc) till the age of 35 years. In the Association, he became an activist of a Hip Hop movement considerate the most dared group in the year of 2002 were Alex used to sing strong lyrics describing the situation of the Cuban People, the police harassment and oppression, the racism issues and the agony of a nation who lives with no resources. Since the first official “Cuban Hip Hop Festival” in 1997, Alex has been invited back every year as a special guest artist, sharing the stage with big stars such as Mos-Def, Tony Touch, Danny Hoch, The Roots, Common, Montell Jordan. His musical and lyrical compositions allied to his great dedication, are enriched with a mix of not only rap music but a fusion with other different Cuban rhythm's embracing even rock, funk, jungle, reggae, blues, dance hall and reggaeton.
