Artist
The music of Spanish pianist Alejandro Clavijo ranges in tone from wistful neo-classical paeans to spectral, minimalist improvisations. Prior to releasing his own compositions in the early 2020s, the Seville-based musician founded the online magazine Reviews New Age and worked as a producer and concert promoter for artists like Will Ackerman, David Lanz, and Chad Lawson. Founded in 2010, Clavijo's publication Reviews New Age dedicated itself to covering a wide range of music from ambient, lounge, and neo-classical to Celtic and more traditional new age. Throughout the 2010s, he split his time between reviewing and editing his magazine and organizing Spanish concerts for leading artists in his field such as Suzanne Ciani and Peter Kater. Beginning with a 2021 improvisation on John Williams' "Somewhere in My Memory," Clavijo began releasing his own recordings. Throughout 2022, he issued a series of original solo piano compositions like "When She Dreams..." and "She Carries Her Own Light."
