Albert Bover was born in Barcelona in 1964. He started to study music theory, solfege and classical piano at the Center of Musical Studies of Barcelona, at the Music School with Albert Giménez and at the Angel Soler Studio. Nowadays he studies classical piano with Sophia Rosoff. He has studied Jazz at the "Aula de Música Moderna", and has taken private lessons with Alvaro Is (1984-1986). Afterwards he moved to a New York, to study at the New School University , where he took lessons with Fred Hersch, Kenny Barron, Barry Harris, Sal Mosca and Jackie Byard (1989-1991). His professional career starts with the group A-free-k and Jack Walrath, performing at the Jazz festivals of Madrid, Barcelona and Terrassa (1986-1987). He was member of the groups "Azúcar Imaginario" and Box Office" (1987-1990). Later he joints the Perico Sambeat Quartet, recording two CD ́ s. With the Eladio Reinón Group he performed at the Jazz Festivals of Copenhague and Aarhus(Denmark). With José Luis Gámez Group, he went to the Leverkusen Jazz Festival (Germany). He has been playing as a sideman with great jazz stars in their tours in Festivals or Jazz Clubs in Spain like Art Farmer, Harold Land, Ed Thigpen, Eddie Henderson, Seamus Blake, Jesse Davis, Ralph Moore, Dick Oatts, Donald Harrison, Eddie Marshall, Sonny Fortune,Ken Peplowski, Sheila Jordan, Idris Muhammad, Antoine Rooney, Scott Hamilton, Bennie Green, Jery Brown, Kenny Wheeler, Walter Norris, Gary Willis, Randy Brecker, Al Foster, Dave Schnitter
