Artist
Alastair James is a 15 year old singer songwriter from Scarborough, North Yorkshire, UK. His music is a unique blend of Acoustic, Reggae and Rock, influenced by Bob Marley, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Bob Dylan, KT Tunstall, Sublime and others. Alastair started singing and playing guitar in public at the age of 14. He is a regular performer on the Scarborough music scene. Alastair performed at “Beached ’07” (the east coast’s largest free music event which has hosted; The Libertines, The Hoosiers, The Fratellis, Amy McDonald, One Night Only, and many more). Alastair was also the opening act for Acoustic Gathering II festival in Scarborough’s Peasholm Park in September ‘07. During summer 2007 Alastair completed work on his first CD, an EP titled “Mother Earth”. The EP features three of Alastair’s songs, ‘Slipping Away’, ‘The World of the Present Time’, and ‘Mother Earth’. The tracks were released in January 2008 and are now available on the iTunes music store. For the future Alastair plans to play more gigs further afield, and hopes to work with successful bands and solo artists. He will also continue writing songs and plans to do more recording work for his next CD.
