www.alanstarck.com Alan Starck was Ominim Records 1st signing outside of mainstay Yimino. Alerted to Ominim by a good old fashioned demo tape, his playful and humorous electronics were immediately appealable to the label looking for new talent. Alan was born in Hammersmith before escaping to the council estates of Suffolk. He had early career advice to be a "wig maker" at school but luckily didn't follow it through. March 2013 was the month of his latest release, the album 'Tales From The Control Room' On a recent trip to a wonderful derelict MOD Jet Engine Research Facility I stumbled across some amazing old control rooms. Whilst sitting amongst the dust, peeling and old relics, I gazed at the dials, knobs and switches picturing the noise and activity here, when things were once active. I imagined that this was in fact a top secret facility for creating ambient sounds and pulsing electronic beats. Crazy scientists programming the panels to concoct new acoustic sensations, day and night. The tunes on my new album are those that could have possibly been emanating out of these beautiful machines. His previous big release was the upbeat 'My Tokyo Suburban NIghts" Album released in Novemeber 2011. On this he said- "Inspiration for my new album came from my interest in the colour and eccentricities of Japanese culture.
