Alan Shapiro was born in Brooklyn and performing since he's 17. He was clearly influenced by The Beatles, Harry Chapin, Kenny Loggins and Billy Joel. Alan was in the band, "Clear Sky" who, not only played around New York but, were part of the background musicians for the album "Wuthering Heights" in 1978. He moved to Los Angeles in 1980 and his song "Ballerina" was noticed by singer Anne Louise Hanson. He continued performing and writing and was part of the ensemble for the opening of the "People's Choice Awards" in 1989. In 1998 he was the primary songwriter for the children's show, "Perfect Harmony." Most recently two of his songs, "Take Me Back to New York" and "That I Would Not Change" have become part of the playlist for radio personality Steve (Daddy-o on the Patio) Jarell at WSGI 1100 AM.
