Alaina Alexander is a stunning beauty who lit up the screen on American Idol as a top 20 finalist on Season Six. She will be the first to tell you that she loves music and performing more than anything else in life. “It really helps me to get my emotions out. I write a lot of my own music but I love having co-writers involved as well. It is always fun to have another mind working with you.” As a poetic songwriter, she personifies her music through her style, heart, and sex appeal to create engaging pop music with a touch of arresting soul. “I was brought up on classic rock, but I listen to hip hop and R&B,” she explains, and lists her influences as ranging from: A Tribe Called Quest, Mariah Carey and Lauren Hill to classics such as The Beatles and Janis Joplin. “I think my music reflects both styles,” she adds. Her tender, soulful voice brings a refreshing twist to her guitar driven songs, which she describes as “full of energy and full of passion.” She elaborates further describing her older work as “mainstream pop-rock with a lot of soulful R&B undertones.” Born and raised in Southern California, this drop-dead gorgeous Redlands native has been singing and performing since the age of eight.
