Artist
"...while Skippy remembers Alabama Watson was much younger and his early 30s when Skippy (White) recorded him in 1954. Alabama Watson's real name is Hibert Watson and he hails from Alabama. Watson was very shy and didn't perform in clubs...Alabama Watson was a customer and buyer of Blues records from Skippy and happened to mention he could play and sing blues also to Skippy. He was asked to bring in a tape of himself and finally he did of himself doing covers of Jimmy Reed and Junior Parkers tunes. Skippy insisted he get some original material and one day Watson came back to Skippy and sang his original he put together cost time, (suspiciously like John Brims touchtime ) but Skippy was impressed and a session was set in motion and even a drummer was brought along. ( HCA heard on this CD is Watson who was learning to play HCA overdubbed )." -from Bluestown Story Vol. 1 User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
