Al Peco grew up in France until the age of nine, then moved to Bamako, Mali, where he spent most of his childhood and adolescence. Inspired by Born Yamadou Kanouté in 1980 in Grigny (Essonne) , Al Peco Kriss Kross at the age of twelve, he began rapping at fourteen or fifteen, and founded the group Rage (Koly, Fokko, and Justice) at sixteen. This group quickly became the leading rap group in Mali and even in neighboring countries thanks to their hit song " Votemania ." At 18, Al Peco moved to Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) to study economics. With his partner Koly, with whom he founded the Rokia Sound association, and supported by their new acquaintance in Toulouse, Kaff2kaff (the composer of the track " B.Boy "), they organized student parties, and in 2001, their first solo EP, PEC EXEL, was released. Everything happened quickly; after earning his master's degree in economics and business management, he returned to music and gained recognition in every project he participated in.
