Akashic Crow's Nest is one of several recording projects undertaken by C.P. McDill (other projects include Saluki Regicide, Djinnestan, Rowboat Magicians, Tree Helicopter and Drone Wallah). Representing a specific facet of McDill's experimentation with sound, ACN tracks are produced by converting visual images into sound, in the manner of a piano roll, and then given only slight enhancement through the use of effects such as delays and compression. Technically this falls into the category of "generative music" but it is most appreciated by those who are drawn to ambient, dark ambient, and minimal/noise music. All Akashic Crow's Nest albums are released for free download on the web, through the netlabels Webbed Hand Records and Treetrunk Records, hosted by the Internet Archive.
