Description from the official Airplanes are Better MySpace Page: "Airplanes or Better was originally conceived by Micah Adams and his long-time friend Joe Ayoub (now of The Marked Men fame). Debating the merits between Helicopters and Airplanes, Joe remarked: "But Airplanes are Better". Mike Farraro, now of Zechs Marquis fame, joined shortly thereafter. We played a lot of shows. I remember it raining really hard every time we ventured to the East side to play. During that period of time, we played with AtomBombPocketKnife, The FlaFla's, Egon, and one of our favorite show-mates, Universal Recovered. Joe Ayoub left for Denton, Texas. He was missed. Luckily Mike and I found a new Bassist in Matt Wilkson, now also of Zechs Marquis fame. We played a lot more shows, with bands like the Groovie Ghoulies, Dead and Gone, Cursive, DeFacto, The Icarus Line, The Push, Belknap (our other favorite show-mates), and of course Universal Recovered. Jim Ward approached us after seeing us play at Insomnia Coffee House about joining up with the Restart Records crew. We literally jumped at the chance, and went into Rosewood studios to Record "The Power EP". Thereafter we had some static in the band, went with another drummer, J.C. Salinas, and went on the road for South By Southwest. We played with Sparta, Icarus Line, and Universal Recovered at the Black Sheep Entertainment/Restart Records Party at Emo's. A small tour followed thereafter, with Sparta headlining. We picked up with the Catheters
