Blending R&B, pop, and alternative influences with a vulnerable perspective, Ai Bendr connects with listeners on a heartfelt level on releases like 2020's "Love Me Low" and "Runaway." A citizen of Nigeria, Australia, and the U.S., Chioma Ai Bendors Illozor grew up in a multicultural family and fell in love with the music she heard on the radio. However, her parents did not initially support her passion, and it wasn't until Illozor attended boarding school in Massachusetts that she was able to pursue her dream. Teaching herself how to play piano and record and produce music, she shared her songs at open mic nights as Ai Bendr and eventually connected with her manager through social media. She released her debut single, "Love Me Low," in July 2020, and followed it with September's "Runaway." After spending much of her time during the COVID-19 global pandemic developing her music, Ai Bendr signed to Interscope Records at the end of the year.
