AGUARDIENTE SWING QUARTET was formed at the beginning of 2001, as a tribute to the music of Django Reinhardt. Two guitar players, Daniel Barbieri and Juan Ras, join forces to play “Gipsy Jazz” together. After a while Humberto Corrales, double bass player, joined the project.They include drums and violin in some of their performances, and they invite singers to perform with them occasionally. The trio recorded their first Cd, “The hottest swing band”, with several guest singers participating. Nacho Luri recorded “Fly me to the moon” in these sessions, almost as an improvised take which finally made the album. They decided to hire Nacho as a regular member of the band as a result of the chemistry they had during the recording. They became soon alter Aguardiente Swing Quartet. Just alter a few months rehearsing, they started playing gigs, and they also recorded their second CD, “Swing Time”(2002). “Honeysuckle Rose” and “I’ve got you under my skin” were recorded this year, and nowadays still are an important part of their set list. “Blue” was also included, which is the first original tune. The sound of the quartet was consolidating. The band plays at Jazz Festivals, well-known Jazz Clubs all over Spain and Cultural events. They still tour all this venues to this day In the Summer of 2003 they went again to the Studio to work on the third Cd, “Le Jazz Hot”. They still do the recording playing the songs live.
