afurnishedsoul is basically a guy called Jeff. for the time being, afurnishedsoul expresses itself musically in three different ways: a) as a home-recording project that loves to be shared but doesn't expect you to love it back, b) as a very occasional studio-band-type thing with real records and some aggressive marketing strategies, c) as a one-man no-folk acoustic guitar celebration of naked ugliness in all its wild beauty. blablatralala. the live set consists of only acoustic songs and is completely different from my studio record. most of the songs on the studio record were written for a band and they don't work very well on an acoustic guitar, and, even though i like them loads (that's not the issue), the two that would work best don't really fit in with what i want to do right now. i want to do something loud, ugly, violent yet fragile, potentially disturbing yet also melodic, and most of all, i want to play it well, so it really gets to me when i don't feel like i've been able to play as well as i wanted. the guy up there isn't me, btw. i don't have any recordings yet and i am a really big fan of his, plus it's a funny video, so there you go. i'll try and put some stuff online as soon as i got some. afurnishedsoul started in late 2002 as a home-recording accident and in the best case i'd like it to last as long as dot dot dot. working on my own (except when joined by others, which does happen from time to time), i have all the freedom in the world to do whatever i f
