By quick turns, melodic and raucous, this rock quartet seems to have appropriated every attention-grabbing technique available from garage, metal and indie. The frontman, the centre of the band, seemed both naïve and charismatic in that awkward teenage way. Their skilled juxtaposition of textbook moves is baffling and genuinely impressive.
