Adrian Partington

Adrian Partington is currently (December 2009) Organist and Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral. He is a versatile musician, having achieved success as conductor, chorus master, pianist and organist. He was educated at the Royal College of Music, where he studied with Herbert Howells, and King’s College Cambridge, where he was both the Organ Scholar, and an Academic Scholar. He is also Artistic Director of the BBC National Chorus of Wales, Conductor of the Bristol Choral Society, and Conductor of the Chorus of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. His responsibilities in the Cathedral include training the famous Cathedral Choir, directing them for services, broadcasts, recordings and foreign tours. He will also be Conductor of the Gloucester Choral Society and Chief Conductor of the 2010 Three Choirs Festival.
