Adam Marsland is an American independent singer/songwriter, most known as the former lead vocalist and primary songwriter of Cockeyed Ghost, a 1990s California power-pop trio whose sound was equally indebted to the abrasiveness of Husker Du and the songcraft of Elton John. Several years after the dissolution of Cockeyed Ghost's record label, Big Deal, the band--which had increasingly become a vehicle for Marsland's very personal songwriting--disolved after one more self-released album. Marsland launched his solo career with a series of extensive, cross-country tours playing small clubs, and the release of a live album, 232 Days on the Road. In 2004, Marsland joined with singer/songwriter Evie Sands, who became a driving force in The "Adam Marsland Chaos Band," his new touring band and the band used on his first solo studio album, 2004's You Don't Know Me. Two years later, the band began playing a string of concerts that paid tribute to the songs of Dennis and Carl Wilson, and this materialized in a live album released under the full band moniker. In 2008, Marsland re-recorded several old Cockeyed Ghost and solo songs for a best-of compilation spanning his entire career. In 2009, Marsland returned with his second solo full-length, Go West, a stylistically-varied double album.
