The first album by collaborators Adam Law and Jeffrey Hunt would come to fruition through a friendship that began as mutual sales personnel at a local music store (Richmond Music Center) in 2002. AL, an upcoming guitarist and JH, a bassist relocated from upstate New York worked together for a year or so before AL would head to college and JH changed jobs. Their paths would not cross again until late 2007. By this time AL had already cut his first solo record called “The Nth Degree”. Utilizing Acid Pro software and a miked TSL 122 Marshall his regular schedule of writing and recording throughout college had additionally established a rich stock of unused songs, ideas, and miscellaneous riffs. JH’s path also took him into a variety of sonic and technical spaces, capturing solo compositions and various live collaborations primarily to minidisc. His bass playing had now spanned into electric upright. The two would set a date to jam with AL’s younger brother on drums (Jared Law) and record the experience. The tapes appeared strong. Soon AL and JH began meeting regularly to begin organizing some of the residual structures and incorporating AL’s archive of late recordings. As time would show, many of his demos had promise so the priority became sorting what would be refined, built upon or remain at rest. With a about half an album’s worth of material developing, the more frequent sessions would be split between writing new arrangements and smartening up the existing ones. Momentu
