Artist
Ad Apt’s love for music was fueled by his father's collection of motown and soul records. 'I used to sit and play my dad's records all day long imagining I was a DJ!' Beginning his music career at 16 as a hype man and MC alongside most of the industry’s high profile drum & bass DJ’s such as Andy C, Shy FX, Hype, Chase & Status, Roni Size etc Ad Apt was building a reputation as a versatile, energetic MC with thought provoking lyrics. This exposure at such a young age gave Ad Apt the foundation to further his career and in 2000 he became a frontman/MC for a new Manchester based band called thebandwithnoname. During 5 years touring the UK and Europe with thebandwithnoname, Ad Apt played a key role in the writing and production of 3 albums collectively selling up to 33,000 copies worldwide. This platform gave Ad Apt valuable experience and has seen him perform to crowds of up to 75,000. Following the success of his time with thebandwithnoname Ad Apt found himself collaborating with other artists including Bungle, LZ7, A. Skillz, BeBe Vox, Louis la Roche, Brooke, Homecut, Josh Record and BCee and is currently working with new artists for future projects. As well as performing as an artist, Ad Apt is an ambassador for a creative arts project called Locdown.
