1. ACME, initially written as アクメ, is a visual kei band formed in June 2017 in Japan. The band members include vocalist CHISA, guitarist SHOGO, bassist RIKITO, and drummer HAL. ACME is recognized for its intense musical style, blending visual kei with metalcore. The band initially described themselves as “delinquent boys from another world”. ACME was formed by former members of the visual kei band DIV, with CHISA and SHOGO collaborating alongside bassist RIKITO and drummer HAL, previously of ARTEMA. The band’s debut was officially announced on June 27, 2017, at NicoNico Headquarters in Tokyo, and their first mini-album, SENKOU, was released on August 2, 2017. Following this, the band toured Japan, but shortly after, RIKITO took a break due to health issues, returning in April 2018. During his absence, ACME continued as a trio, releasing the single “Rotten Orange” on March 7, 2018. That August, they released their first full album, Zesshououka. In February 2019, ACME performed in the United States for the first time at Anime Milwaukee in Wisconsin. Later that year, they performed at A-Kon in Dallas and held a show in California. ACME's first full U.S. tour took place in January 2020 with Canadian metalcore band Red Handed Denial, though plans for further tours were interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
