Aceldama was born in March 2005 in San Ramon de Alajuela, Costa Rica as a project of Death Metal with a lineup of five members (Dixon, Jessica, Stephen, Gabriel and Cesar). Through many trials and sacrifice the band was gradually consolidated in the local scene by participating in different concerts in Costa Rica. The band finally settled on a bitter and extreme old school death metal sound, with some of the earlier songs leaning towards grindcore. Their lyrical themes are expressive of Christianity. In 2006 the band recorded its first demo “Victimas de la Muerte” which was limited to a few copies distributed in different parts of Costa Rica, Ecuador and Mexico. In 2007 Aceldama recorded an EP titled “Sepultados en Tinieblas ” of which only 25 copies were distributed in different parts of Costa Rica. The band released its first full-length album, entitled "Melquisedec," in 2010. After personnel changes the current lineup of the band is as follows: Jonathan White (vocals) Samuel Aguero (guitar) Mario Villalobos (guitar) Gabriel Villalobos (bass) Cesar Gonzalez (drums) The band is currently recording a new album. While the band's lyrics have been in Spanish up to this point, the songs may be in English on the new record.
