ABRAXASAXOPHONIC SMOOTH JAZZ VAGINA was recorded by Arrington de Dionyso (of Old Time Relijun, Malaikat dan Singa) in 2000 after returning home from a long tour with Old Time Relijun. During that tour, Arrington and Phil Elverum had joked continuously about the idea of taking signal from a radio station playing smooth jazz and using it as a backing track for performing noisy, abrasive squaking on saxophone and bass clarinet. Arrington accepted the challenge, and thus the album was made. It was released in 2000 by NGWTT records. In 2012 it will be re-released on vinyl (with new material) on Gilgongo Records.
