(August 30, 1973 β June 9, 2012) Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1973, Abram Wilson grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana where he attended the New Orleans Center For Creative Arts (NOCCA), a school specialising in jazz and classical music. After graduating from NOCCA and high-school, he studied classical trumpet with Larry Griffin at Ohio Wesleyan University. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in music education, he continued studying music at the Eastman Conservatory in Rochester, New York where he got his masters degree, studying jazz performance and composition with Ralph Alessi, Mike Cain, and Fred Sturm, and classical trumpet with Barbara Butler. After graduation from Eastman, he moved to New York where he started his own band and worked on music education projects until 2002, when he moved to London where he lived. 2004 marked the release of Abram Wilson's first solo album, "Jazz Warrior".
