Abigail "Abi" Finley (born September 10th 1982, Prestwich, UK) is an actress and Musical Theatre performer from Greater Manchester, England, best known for appearing on the BBC Talent show How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? in 2006. The BBC Reality show was produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber and set out to find someone to play "Maria von Trapp" in West End revival of "The Sound Of Music". Abi appeared on the show with her best friend from college, Aoife Mulholland and was known as 'Tomboy Maria'. She reached the semi-finals, losing out to Mulholland in the sing-off. The show was eventually won by Connie Fisher. Despite not winning the show, Abi has gone on to have a musical theatre career. She starred as Fiona in "Blondel" at the Pleasance Theatre in 2006 and Serena in the UK National Tour of "Fame" in 2007. From May 2008, Finley starred as Miranda, the disembodied German head in "Betwixt! The Musical" at the The King's Head Theatre, Islington. She starred as Jane in Gareth Peter's "Bluebird the Musical", a musical set in the Second World War, alongside I'd Do Anything finalist Sarah Lark and Ramin Karimloo.
