Abdullah Nazriev (also spelled Abdollâh Nazriev, Russian: Абдулло Назриев) is a folk singer from Tajikistan. He comes from a musical family. His father was an accomplished singer and tanbur player, and his grandfather was also a great musician. His grandfather's brother Surhak played gidjak. As a child Abdullah Nazriyev listened carefully to the music of his father and grandfather and tried to emulate them. He began to play gidjak and tanbur. In 1937-1938, his father brought a gramophone to the village where they lived and records of famous folk musicians Mullotuychi, Sodirhon, Abdulaziz Khoja, Sharif Dzhurayev and Tuhfy Fozilova. Through these records the young Abdullah discovered variety of genres and types of folk and classical Tajik music. He always listened to records and for him, the most memorable was the famous "Ushshoki Samarkand" by Abdulaziz Khoja. Abdullah Nazriyev successfully continues this family tradition as a mature master with his family ensemble, now consisting of his sons, Isma'il Nazriev and Davlat Nazriev.
