We wish there were fewer songs. We wish it was just a sweet fairy tale film, but not all wishes are granted. Actor-turned-writer-producer Aftab Shivdasani’s ‘Aao Wish Karen’ is about a 12-year-old boy who thinks the reason for all his problems in life is that he is a kid. With the help of a street clown with magical powers (Johny Lever), his wish is granted and he turns into a handsome grown-up guy overnight to woo his ladylove (Aamna Sharif) and use his gaming skills to earn big money to help his dad. But, he is again reduced to a kid the day he plans to marry his sweetheart Direction The film works in parts but you find yourself waiting for things to happen. The audience is treated to Aftab visiting his gaming office clad in three-fourths, he getting scared of staying alone and trying to impress his girl with dialogues from Mughal-e-Azam. And as the film itself says, “google ke zamane mein mughal” fails to amuse! Script/Dialogues For ‘Aao Wish Karen’ Aftab lends his support in the writing department too. The story had a potential to be a sweet kiddie film with a generous dose of concepts like video games, spiderman and Mc Donalds thrown in, but it fails to stick to being a simple kid’s film.
