ARRINCOHLYD formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1999. A collaboration of already established artists Jack Arrin and Helen Lydon. ARRINCOHLYD subsequently released their first ep "Hold on to the..." to moderate underground success. After a 4 year hiatus(claimed to be due to minor creative differences) the band reunited and recorded their follow up to 2000's "Hold on to the..." and it was on this record that the band launched themselves onto the Dublin DJ circuit. Unfortunately differences once again reared their ugly head and the band split indefinetely in the summer of 06, Jack Arrin although maintained ownership of the name and still records under it to this day as well as his own solo projects. He currently resides and works in London, England. Helen's retired from the club life after leaving the band and is now believed to be living in Dublin once again. This is not the end of the story as it turns out because the band has had a recent renaissance of sorts as new fans hail the bands material as a "masterstroke in contemporary electronica". Many believe this was started due to the bands overtly clandestine nature and extreme secrecy about their recording but also the band's unusual name (A combination of their previous DJ aliases, ArrinCo and H-Lyd.) Jack Arrin sadly passed away in February 2009, shortly after recording their first track in over a year, Coldplay.
