Ali is the name of several recording artists. 1) ALI (Alien Liberty International), a multinational hip-hop / funk band. Tokyo, Shibuya born band that has its root in Funk/Soul/Jazz/Latin with a cross over of Hip Hop. The members are LEO (vo), JUA (rap), ZERU (gt), LUTHFI (ba), KAHADIO (dr), ALEX (per), YU (sax) which released their first single wild side (chosen to be the opening theme song for the 1st season of the anime "Beastars") in 2019. A year later, ALI released their second single lost in paradise featuring rapper AKLO, used as the ending theme for the anime "Jujutsu Kaisen". On May 14, 2021, it was announced on the band's official website that activities would be suspended indefinitely due to drummer Kahadio being arrested for fraud. On November 18 2021, it was announced that the band had returned, but drummer Kahadio would no longer be part of the group. 2) Ali (or Ali Jones) was born on July 13, 1971 in St. Louis, Missiouri, United States abd is an American rapper and a member of the hip hop group St. Lunatics with wellknown artists like Nelly, City Spud and Murphy Lee. He released his solo album "Heavy Starch" in 2002, collaborated with Big Gipp as Ali & Gipp in 2007 and is also the president of Nelly's record label "Derrty Entertainment".
