AGST, real name August Bäckman, is a Swedish electronic music producer and composer who, despite spending two and a half years of his childhood in Germany, has lived almost his entire life in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. Grandson to a passionate jazz musician, AGST learned the basics of the piano at an early age (a skill which has formed the basis for his catchy chord progressions). At 11 years of age, AGST discovered house music and began experimenting with the production software, FL Studio, subsequently posting his work on various online sites. As an accomplished producer of future bass and deep house music, AGST draws inspiration from a wide variety of sources; he regularly listens to music from the 1960s-90s, citing the authenticity of bands like Oasis and Abba as being particularly influential. In October 2017, he released the EP “Overload”, following this with “Crystallize” and the singles “Lucid” and “Limitless” in 2018.
