What began as separate and quite possibly different dreams lead five different people together to form the machine known only as A Time to Stand. Bryan, Chris, Dan, Tom and Tony, all with their different musical backgrounds, were forged into brotherhood through three things: love of music, love of playing music, and love of beer. Each has their own tale of how they found theirselves apart of A Time to Stand, though only the brief history is shown. The band started with Chris (guitars) and Tony (drums). Renting a room in the infamous Music Mall in Cheektowaga, NY, they began to write music, until they found a path to their calling. With this realization, a quest began to find members of similar attitude to start what would become their first band: the search for musicians who want to write music and party together began. Enter Bryan, ex-bassist of BrokenFrame. Wanting a different aspect of his musical talents, he found an ad placed searching for a singer. With no professional experience or training in this field, he proved to be a natural. Needless to say, he was asked to provide fulltime vocals for the nameless band. Wanting a more distinguished sound, the band began its search for a second guitarist. A little time and patience paid off in the form of Tom (Dispatch). At the time he was without a band and had a string of unfulfilling bands, Tom added to Bryan's experience. And then the band was near completion, still nameless, contemplating possible ideas.
