A State of Flux is a band determined to push the boundaries of modern alternative rock. Their musical style is original, intense, progressive & brooding, falling somewhere in the vast musical landscape between bands such as Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails, Kate Bush & Tool. A State of Flux was born in 2004 in Melbourne, Australia when vocalist Roni Shewan put her vocal ideas onto a series of songs written by producer Red Black. After collaborating on a vast amount of recorded material, the pair then recruited the rhythm section of Atticus Bastow and Matt Delaney and set about honing their live show and making their mark on the Melbourne live music scene. 2007 saw A State of Flux perform live extensively in the lead-up to the release debut single, sharing melbourne's best stages with highly respected acts such as Sleep Parade, Sydonia, Long Walk Home, Five Star Prison Cell, Sleepmakeswaves, Bushido, Mushroom Giant and The White Room. 2008 sees A State of Flux fresh off the successful release & subsequent interstate tour of their debut single Surface Tension, released through Red Lodge Music. They are currently gearing up for the release and launch of their debut EP. Produced & mixed by Red Black at red lodge & studio 52 in Melbourne, & mastered by Joseph Carra at Crystal Mastering, the self-titled EP represents a staggering musical achievement for the band | Roni Shewan’s powerful jazz-inspired vocals are contrasted against searing and creative rock guitar and bass. blazi
