Artist
A Sea Warren is the moniker of Al Warren, a self-producing, self-releasing musician and composer crafting introspective, genre-blurring music from his home studio in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Blending lo-fi textures with indie rock, folk, ambient, classical and experimental soundscapes, Warren’s music is deeply personal. Since 1997, he has released over 20 full-length records, each chronicling a different phase of his life and creative evolution. His latest albums mark a return to form after a creative hiatus, showcasing a more refined production while maintaining his signature DIY vulnerability. Born on the 3rd of July 1980 in Rochford hospital in Essex. Al Warren spent his early years in Canvey Island before relocating to Westcliff, Shoeburyness and finally Southend on Sea. It was in these locations that the majority of his albums were written and recorded. In 2013 he relocated to South Lanarkshire and had an 8 year hiatus before returning to music production. He has since developed a more structured process that encompasses all of his various musical interests. In January 2023 he released his first orchestral suite. Inspired by the world heritage site at New Lanark it is evocative sweeping soundscape that has been compared to Aaron Copland. As yet the suite has not been performed User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
