Following the break-up of The Connie Dungs in 2000, guitarist/vocalist Brandon Tussey started a new project with a less pop oriented direction called A Radio With Guts. The name appears to have been taken from a Charles Bukowski poem of the same name. First, Tussey recorded an acoustic collection of old and new songs for Knock Knock Records. Then, fellow members of The Connie Dungs Chris and Wayne Griffith joined him for the 2002 Knock Knock release Beat Heart Sweet Stereo. In 2005, the Griffiths left the band, and bassist Zakk Spears was added. On July 24, 2007, Tussey announced that The Connie Dungs have reformed and will be again playing shows and releasing records.[1] Fellow member of both bands Josh McKinley added that ARWG planned to coexist with The Connie Dungs as a separate project. In September 2008, McKinley announced that work is continuing on a third ARWG album. a radio with guts is good music for suicide and drinking.... listen to them before you kill yourself ALSO, A RADIO WITH GUTS was the moniker for all music recorded by J.
