A Fatal Denial is a melodic and progressive metalcore group formed in the suburbs of Detroit, MI around fall of 2003. The group encapsulates an odd combination of progressive composition techniques, and unusual vocal tone styles. The bands guitar work stems from the virtuoso methods of the '80s, while slipping in a modern 'Between the Buried and Me' or 'Dillinger Escape Plan' type of twist. The exquisite combination of styles and time signatures complements the melodies to bring out a brilliantly original and classically composed set of scores. The live performance is aggressive; with a sea of melodies and an army of odd-time attacks. The vocals are truly heartfelt, with in-depth poetic reference, and topics ranging from internal conflicts to political issues. The band has shared the stage with such acts as Junction 18 (Fearless), Anterrabae (Razor Tie), Bloodlined Calligraphy (Facedown), Poulain (Fiddler), The Spill Canvas, The Lyndsay Diaries (The Militia Group), and Amity (Heldwithin).
