A Bit Shifty was a two-piece band from South St. Louis. In addition to the core members, Melinda Cooper and Brad Vaughn, there have been an additional 12-15 members in the band including Paul Altnether and Matt Derouin. The band’s mission was to make simple pop songs with not only a backbone, but a fist. Shifty was a sure thing for boy/girl harmonies and sweet, rich tone. Although they were together for roughly 8 years, no major release was ever accomplished. There are many, many home and studio recordings floating around the city.
