Artist
80_pan, formerly known as 80★PAN!, and originally known as ハレンチ☆パンチ (Harenchi☆Punch), is a Victor Entertainment idol unit made out of 2 girls living in Kansai area and is led by Tomomi Ogasawara. They were discovered by popular Kyoto Information Magazine "Kyoto CD!" in their search for new popular idols, debuting in 2004. Tomomi, whose dream is to form a band and has been attending live houses as a band kid, announced to their producer, "We will become idols making genuine music!". Their brand of girl's rock, similar to that of artists like Avril Lavigne, Ashley Simpson and Hilary Duff, coupled with their cute voices and harmonies, gives them great hit potential. In their newest incarnation Tomomi and Mako have donned an electropop/80's new wave/rave feel and are also following in the footsteps of successful artists like capsule and Perfume. The name of the band refers to their desire to punch out the lies and deceit in the world today, to reform the world and make it a better place. On September 14th, Saya announced her graduation from the group, which occurred October 8th, 2007. They've released 4 singles and 2 albums under their previous names, and have so far released a digital single and a mini album under their new name. In May 2009, they announced on their blog that they will disband by the end of june 2009, after a last concert.
