7VWWVW, when viewed upside down, reads MAMMAL. Formed in Edinburgh Scotland in 2000, 7VWWVW are an elusive band from and still residing in that city. They are a 4 piece who write and perform their live music on a collection of vintage analogue synthesisers. They reject accusations of playing electronica and instead claim to play 'junior orchestra' or 'modern classical' or just simply describe themselves confidently as 'not like your band'. Their sound, though hard to pinpoint encompasses elements of Eno/Glass/Sakamoto through Can/Neu past Kraftwerk and Human League up to Chicago's Toroise and Trans Am. To date they have released 1 10" vinyl only single entitled There's No Crueller Than The Sea, Nor Even As Cruel.
