60Juno leads Central California’s post-punk scene with sounds of heavy nostalgia felt deep in the chest, all beginning in the lonely bedroom of a 2020-quarantined teen in Merced. Inspired by the 2016 surge of Southern California’s DIY Indie-Rock scene, as well as the ever-popular Soundcloud era of rap, 60Juno realized that creating his own sound wasn’t as far away as he once thought. The independent 19-year old is the driving force behind all of the bass, drums, guitar and vocals that can be heard on each track listened to by nearly 150 thousand people across the world. Though inspired by the likes of The Drums and Current Joys, 60Juno takes the usually wistful, dreamy surf-rock sound a step further into post-punk territory with heightened energy and rough, low vocals thrown on top. What may have started off as a drive to create for the sake of creating has now transformed into a push toward establishing a notable sound worth remembering.
