6 Second Crush was a Connecticut-based post-hardcore/screamo band formed in 2001 by singer Jonathan Whittaker and drummer John Micalizzi. Bassist Rich Massella and guitarist Anthony Lukac joined the band shortly afterward. The band quickly wrote and recorded a 3 song EP entitled "Everything Fades Away" at Planet of Sound Studios in Hartford, CT. Due to band infighting, Anthony Lukac left the band shortly after finishing the EP and Rich Massella left to join the band INK. In 2002, Whittaker and Micalizzi decided it was best to push on and enlisted the help of bassist Thom Buckwalter and guitarist Neal Pearson. The band gained exposure in the Northeast by playing scores of shows all over the northeast, and opening for such acts as Woven (Interscope Records), Count The Stars (Victory Records), Mae (Tooth & Nail), Steel Train (Drive-Thru), & Plain White T's (Fearless Records). In late 2002, 6 Second Crush recorded the #2 EP with engineers Nolan Voss and Mike Tobin at Micalizzi's home rehearsal space. The band received some limited radio air play with the single "Summer Days". The band continued to play shows until an incident in 2004 resulted in Micalizzi leaving the band. Shortly afterward, guitarist Neal Pearson also left the band to join Fear the State. Whittaker and Buckwalter kept pushing along and brought together the last incarnation of 6 Second Crush with guitarist Chris Trumpower & drummer Phil Jacobs. Again the band quickly wrote material, gigged the tri-sta
