5’nizza (pronounced "Pyat-ni-tsa", meaning "Friday" in Russian and Ukrainian) is an acoustic musical duo from Kharkiv, Ukraine, formed in 2000. The lineup consists of Sergey Babkin (vocals, guitar, beatbox) and Andrey Zaporozhets (vocals). The group's musical style is a fusion of reggae, hip-hop, funk, and soul. It is characterized by a minimalist sound, relying primarily on acoustic guitar and beatboxing (vocal percussion), without a traditional rhythm section. Their lyrics are performed mostly in Russian, with elements of Ukrainian and English. The duo first gained popularity through the unofficial circulation of demo recordings. Their debut material, recorded in 2002 with a minimal budget, became widely known as Анплаггед (Unplugged). This success led to the official release of their first studio album, Пятница (Friday), in 2003. The track "Солдат" (Soldier) received significant radio airplay, establishing the group's mainstream popularity across Eastern Europe. In 2005, they released their second album, О5 (pronounced "O-pyat", a pun meaning "Again"). In 2007, during the recording of a third album, the group disbanded due to creative differences. Zaporozhets wished to expand the band's sound with additional instrumentation, while Babkin preferred to maintain the acoustic format.
