49 Winchester is an American band from Castlewood, Virginia, a small town in Southern Appalachia. The group was formed by Isaac Gibson, his childhood friend Chase Chafin, and guitarist Bus Shelton. They began performing locally before expanding to broader audiences. Their fifth studio album, "Leavin’ This Holler," is the band’s second collaboration with Virginia-native producer Stewart Myers. The project features contributions from the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, guest backing vocals, fiddler performances, and guitarist Cole Chafin, who is both the band’s guitar tech and the younger brother of founding member and bassist Chase Chafin. Since their formation, 49 Winchester has developed a reputation for blending country, Americana, and rock, gaining recognition for their energetic performances and dedication to their roots. The band continues to reside in Castlewood, Virginia, reflecting on their career and the importance of the simple aspects of life.
