Artist
There is more than one artist called 313: 1) A heavy metal band from Pittsburgh/Monroeville, Pennsylvania that formed in the year 1985. They originally went by the name Discipline in 1983 and then decided to reestablish themselves as 313 (pronounced 'three thirteen') in 1985. 313 was formed by Tim Aymar (vocals), Mark Menold (guitars), Doug Appel (guitars), David Kendrick (bass) and Ned Lyden (drums). Lyden left the band at an unknown point in time and was replaced by Kirk Henry. Not only were they heavy metal, they also had elements of power metal and speed metal. Ten songs were recorded at Gamut Productions during the end of 1985 and the recordings were dubbed as the Gamut Sessions (1985). Then in the winter of 1987/1988, they recorded at Aircraft Recording Studios (Aircraft Sessions (1987)) and the recordings were intended to be released as their debut full-length album. It was going to be released through PARC Records, but it never came to fruition. PARC Records then went under the name Jet Screamer, the recordings were passed off as the "Jet Screamer" demo. Tim Aymar left the band in 1987. Then there were tensions with the remaining members and they decided to call it quits in 1988. Even though the band dissolved, a 19-song compilation entitled Three Thirteen was released through Divebomb Records in 2019. It contains all ten recordings from the Gamut Sessions (1985) and all nine recordings from the Aircraft Sessions (1987). 2) A hip-hop/rap group based in
