3 Stages of Pain were a hardcore band from Sheffield, England. The band signed to undergroove records and their first album 'With Chaos In Her Wake' was released in 2002, and the band acheived critical acclaim, they landed a John Peel Radio One Session and went on to tour with amongst others Clutch, Therapy?, Pale Horse, 27 and Dukes of Nothing. In 2005 the band released their second album, also on Undergroove, 'Black Heart Blues' was an excellent title for the album which featured both hardcore and blues rock. The final track on the album 'Seconds Later (They Suddenly Die)' features a duet between Shelf (3sop vocalist) and Maria Christopher from Boston, US group 27. In October 2005 3 Stages of Pain toured with US band Kylesa and a few months afterwards they announced they were to finish.
