Formed in the small town of Judsonia, Arkansas in the Fall of 2007, 3 Miles From Providence formed when James Roberson & Luke Smith began writing songs together. Soon after, Ryan Davidson, close friend of James, joined the band on drums. Eventually, the band was completed with Clay Hoffmann on bass guitar & Josh Dixon on rhythm guitar. The band has won the 2007 Feed the Need Battle of the Bands, the 2008 Alice 107.7 Battle of the Bands, and featured as Arkansas Rocks!'s Band of the Month for September, 2009.
