In July 2005, Ed Braund (drums), Mandy Fishleigh (keyboard) and George Braun (Guitar) formed a band. After one practise (doing absolutely nothing) Ed and Mandy decided to meet again and also that George shouldn't be in the band anymore, due to musical differences. After a few practises there was a small audition for the part of vocalist in the band, but Mandy was clearly the best of the 3 entrants and it was decided that there would only be two people in the band. Shortly after this decision the band name came along. 2way. The name is a homage to the Bowling For Soup classic song: 'Girl All The Bad Guys Want'. In the opening verse the lyrics are "She wears a two way, but I'm not quite sure what that means.". The name was sugested by the band's friend/number two fan (after Mandy's gran) Adam Ravenscroft. At the time they didn't know what it meant either, until they were informed by the band's good friend, Phil Sykes. It is actually an undergarnment similar to a thong.
