1986. The year that the first 22.22 song was made. Back in his childhood bedroom in Dalecarlia, Sweden 12-year-old Daniel was rapping “I’m coming from Bronx” over an instrumental version of “Blue Monday” by New Order. 20 years later. Nothing has happened. 22.22 now create songs without consideration to what’s expected, gladly allowing themselves to lose control over preconceived ideas. Today the group consists of Daniel Sjöblom, Erik Östholm and Daniel Lundberg on drum loops, guitar, bass, cheap synthesisers and banjo. There is an element of escapism in the music of 22:22 that also exists in their lyrics. In their first unpublished recording, everything revolves around the theme of moving, either to cities, countries or simply states of mind.
